Christmas 2014
2015... uploading!!!
Not only that but I also get to hang out with my entire family for a whole day. Its funny because I see my cousins every end of the month but I still look forward to this one day because it is so much fun and we joke a lot and talk and laugh which is what life is all about?
So what do we do: -
1. The women cook traditional Kikuyu food which would be mukimo ya Njahi and ripe bananas.
2. The men slaughter and roast the mbuzi and yes it has to be mbuzi, nothing else will do and my uncles and dad roast the best nyam chom ever. Nothing compares to it. I should know, I have eaten nyam chom all over Kenya and this is the best.
3. We eat and eat and eat to the point that no one ever eats supper or even asks for it on Christmas evening, there is left over if you want to carry.

And then eat some more: -
Then play a bit: -

And then discuss family issues: -
I have really enjoyed Christmas and I look forward to many more and I hope this is something we can pass to next generation because there is no greater feeling than the love of a family.
Its really never about the nyama choma or sodas or the food, its the fact I have people that I can always share Christmas with, its time to reconnect and talk about the year and wonder what the new year will hold.
Truthfully if I am throwing a party or harambee I do not need to worry about people showing up my family will turn out in huge numbers and that's amazing.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
